Nathan James Burgess is an Austin-based, far west Texas-raised artist and graphic designer. With a background in old master style portraiture, he now takes inspiration from color field expressionism to create his minimalist oil paintings. In today's technological world, we might often find ourselves drowning in a sea of white noise: online content, intrusive ideas, and relentless messaging that bombard us at almost every moment of our lives. We are overstimulated, oversaturated, and overworked. We overthink, and we overshare our thoughts. Through my work I hope to inspire destimulation, deeper, meditative thinking, and taking a step back to see the bigger picture.
